About the Artist
Sarah Zak spent a good part of her life "creating beauty “!
As a hair and make-up artist, she made sure models looked like the brands and media behind the high end productions wanted them to look.
Beautiful, but artificial and a means to sell products. Years into this profession, Sarah realized what she actually wanted was to “ show beauty “– beauty that is already there.
“ I wanted to spread my creativity. Not only work according to orders but show beauty in an unfiltered way. Therefore I grabbed an analog camera. I started to ask women around me to shoot them. From agency models to strangers I approached on the street and long-term friends. For me, it's most important that everyone feels comfortable and safe while being in front of the camera. Showing their true self “ , says Sarah.

Imperfection is perfect. Sarah Zak's works represents exactly that. It´s a refreshing and honest pictorial of women. Sarah’s authentic Photography feels like a visual relieve in a world of Instagram, TikTok, and artificial beauty 24/7.
